Royal Dutch Shell

R&D strategy

Context: Supported digital venture development in the maritime energy sector, exploring ways to improve efficiency, data flow, and collaboration across the shipping ecosystem.

Role: Led discovery and contextual enquiry with port operators and shipping SMEs. Mapped journeys and visualised the ecosystem across data, logistics, and people to shape value propositions. Identified pain points and inefficiencies across the supply chain, and co-created value propositions and digital venture concepts with the project sponsor to align stakeholders on key opportunities and investment priorities.

Outcome: Insights and opportunity framing were presented to senior leadership, resulting in funding approval for the next development stage and advancement of a prioritised venture concept.
